The Centre

Care Quality Commission imageThe Wellington Diagnostics and Outpatients Centre is regulated by the Care Quality Commission in accordance with the Care Standards Act 2000 and inspected regularly against National Minimum Standards (Department of Health 2002). The Care Quality Commission is responsible for monitoring the performance of all NHS and independent healthcare organisations across England and Wales. Additionally we are accredited by CHKS, an independent accreditation body. CHKS enables healthcare organisations to critically examine themselves against a nationally recognised framework of organisational standards.

Our Consultants

All consultants working at the Wellington Diagnostics and Outpatients Centre have to apply for Practicing Privileges. In order to have practicing privileges the consultant has to meet the following criteria:

  • GMC certificate
  • GMC specialist registration
  • Professional indemnity insurance
  • CRB clearance
  • Have an annual appraisal
  • Interview with CEO
  • Approval by Medical Advisory Committee of The Wellington Hospital
